And large property owning companies are among the biggest donors to all relevant political parties. Social Democrats oppose social housing in many places and the laws to limit gouging people with rent hikes are set to expire in a few years.

Also the conservative / reactionary CDU/CSU want to limit the access to healthcare in general and mental healthcare in particular while wanting to make lists of all people with diagnosed mental illnesses. So mental illnesses as a predecessor or as a consequence of homelessness will be treated less and struggling people will be persecuted.

This is only the beginning, unless there is a complete turnaround in politics, or they escalate to putting people into camps again.
