Summary

Donald Trump has shifted focus away from the economy, despite using inflation as a campaign issue.

With Biden presiding over strong job growth, low unemployment, and easing inflation, Trump faces difficulty critiquing the economy.

Democrats aim to capitalize by framing Trump as responsible for economic challenges and advocating for voter-friendly economic priorities.

Historically, disciplined messaging on pocketbook issues has delivered major midterm victories for both parties.

    I just can’t care anymore.

It’s actually proven now, it doesn’t matter.

No matter how many stories are run about the awful things he does and the good things he doesn’t do, the people who voted for him will love him just the same.

No matter what he does, no matter how awful, nothing the media prints matters, and our institutions will do nothing to stop him.

We now just have to hope that he and his supporters don’t decide we are done with elections in four years. We exist at their whim.

Edit: And might I add - the “opposition party” just ran an election centered around courting voters from Trump’s party instead of their own, and shows no signs of learning from it. (again) We are well and truly fucked.

Yah Democrats are the version of Republicans that hedges their bet that accountability matters to the public to some degree and acts somewhat accordingly. That bet has proven false. Pure manipulation and lies will define politics for the foreseeable future unless some kind of massive voter backlash occurs in the very near future.

I have a hard time watching what democrats do to progressives and concluding that they are interested in democracy. Republicans are obviously worse in the way that they govern but at least in the way they run their primary they may be more democratic. They didn’t stop Trump from winning the nomination. Their voters got exactly what they asked for. I haven’t felt that way about a dem primary in almost 20 years.

As long as the Dems keep glossing over the worsening K-shaped economy, and talking past the pain that the majority of middle-America is feeling - they’re going to continue to lose the working class to apathy and the GOP.

It doesn’t matter if wages nationally ‘went up” $1b, if it all went to like 3 people, and everyone else’s wages stagnated or went down.

Tough times are coming regardless of who was elected. Look at the global economic fractures that have occurred over the last 5 years and it becomes obvious. Prepare yourselves and good luck.

With Biden presiding over strong job growth, low unemployment, and easing inflation

These losers are never going to “win” when their metrics are complete garbage.

“Full employment” just means everybody is being used. It just means we’re all wasting our lives serving capital. It’s not a worthwhile goal. We should be shooting for 4-day weeks and similar instead. We should be shooting for total liberation not total enslavement.

Likewise with GDP, etc. Their metrics are all about how fully they can exploit people and how fast they can destroy the planet.

That’s why nobody cares when these creeps tell that “the economy” is doing great. It just means we’re all getting screwed more greatly.

It’s fact that GDP is totally detached from quality of life.

We need better metrics for success before we make ourselves extinct

Nothing will meaningfully improve until the rich fear for their lives

no that is an inaccurate statement that fails to paint the full picture

a portion of the citizens that went through an extremely underfunded education system while dealing with heavy metals and other pollution that both parties have failed to do anything about that then came of age in a country without free healthcare and living wages or without affordable childcare while also being bombarded by toxic culture and watched by an overfunded police force the entirety of their natural lives voted

the rest of those citizens either did not vote or were imprisoned by bipartisan politics that kept them locked up with some of them used as prison slaves for corporations

US elections are a scam bought, paid for, and ran by corporate overlords

You can’t simply absolve personal responsibility in a free society. We have so much knowledge at our disposal, people decide not to engage with it and live their version of reality because anything else is threading on their freedoms. Many in our society choose to be the way they are, or at least choose not to give a chance to be different.

I refuse to absolve people of their personal responsibility because the moment I do that I am asserting that people do not have free will and if I do that then I have to believe in authoritarianism because it would mean that people do not posses the ability to make choices by themselves and so they need someone wiser to take them in their stead.

this sounds like a copout. We are lucky to have the democratic system we have now and it was our fault we have allowed the loss of what we had before citizens united and not gotten it back to where we were or further and it will be all of our fault if we continue to let it slide. Trump won do to the way people voted or did not vote no matter how they want to rationailze their actions or inaction now.

👀 🇺🇸 BIG NEWS! 🎉 It’s your boy Donald Trump here, bringing you the inside scoop on the world of economic genius—and a little reminder: when stuff gets pricey, it’s just proof that I’m OWNING the liberals and making China look like total fools!

You see, my friends, when prices are soaring, it means we’re in the midst of some serious business. And guess what? That’s all me! The price tags might seem a bit high, but they’re nothing compared to the wealth of wisdom I bring to this great nation.

Let’s talk about those liberals: every time you see your grocery bill, just remember—you’re witnessing history. Those prices aren’t just numbers; they’re statements from yours truly, declaring that we are bigger and better and absolutely unstoppable! We are playing a different game here in the real economy, where quality and prestige come at a price.

And China? Well, my friends, those soaring costs mean our tariffs have done more than you can imagine. It’s like watching them play checkers while I’m mastering 3D chess. They think they’re tough cookies, but their factories are churning out products faster than a geyser spewing watermelons! We’ve got ‘em on the ropes with some serious leverage—and let me tell you, it’s all because of the genius strategy that comes from yours truly.

So next time you see those price tags, give yourself a pat on the back. You’re not just paying; you’re investing in the Trump legacy where every dollar spent is another win for America! 💰🇺🇸

Remember folks, when it’s expensive, it’s just a sign that we’re doing things the TRUMP way—bigly!

At least we think that is what Elon told him…hard to understand him with a dick in his mouth. On how to fix literally everything within 30 minutes if being sworn in.

When the recession comes everyone will blame him for it, and most likely none of it will go to the dems and what they did in the past 4 years.
