I would say that the hair is the set of raccoons that hang out on the roof of the house and do weird shit at unexpected times.

The brain is above the mouth so as thought we ‘look’ down at it. Therefore we are looking from above at the roof.

If a roof is an exterior representation of an internal ceiling, and the top of your mouth is the roof, then what is the mouth’s ceiling?

I propose the tissue at the top of your mouth is both. With the lower surface your tongue touches being the cieling, and the upper surface leading to your sinuses being the roof.

    roof

    | ro͞of, ro͝of |
noun (plural roofs | rufs, rʊfs |)

    1. the structure forming the upper covering of a building or vehicle.
    2. the top inner surface of a covered area or space; the ceiling: the roof of the cave fell in.
    3. used to signify a house or other building, especially in the context of hospitality or shelter: helping those without a roof over their heads | they slept under the same roof.

You sound like my dad. He never misses an opportunity to point out that the roof is on the outside of the house.
