Netanyahu’s office accused Hamas of reneging on an earlier agreement granting Israel a veto over which prisoners convicted of murder would be released in exchange for hostages. This disagreement has delayed the Israeli Cabinet’s approval of the ceasefire deal.
There never was going to be one. He doesnt want it. His administration doesnt want it.
Yeah, was pretty dubious about it when I read the headline yesterday.
Edit: Wrong thread.
Considering Israel reneged on it as soon as Biden is leaving may be that they were planning to do this all along and wanted to wait for more favorable concessions from Trump.
The far right wing of his government coalition had threatened to walk away, which would have crashed his gov’t > leading to a non-confidence vote > leading to a new election he would likely lose. And then there’s his ongoing court case which he will likely lose and go to jail for.
Ofc he wrecked this deal.
Hamas reneged and is claiming it is a crisis that Israel isn’t releasing convicted murderers. I have zero fucking evidence for this but it absolutely wreaks of Russia aiding Iran et al into keeping this going until Trump is in office and can claim it as a win.
Yeah my lines of thinking are the same. It has happened before.
He just wants to commit some last minute war crimes.
Squeeze in a couple before last call
The last minute crisis was he learned that there were still some people in Gaza alive.
“Come on guys, I just wanna keep killing people. It’s like my favorite thing.”
that and staying out of prison.
Hahahaha, what a predictable asshole.
To no one’s surprise
Except the Americans, maybe. To them, that Israel is an honest actor is an (often literal) article of faith.
