I know it may be too soon to talk about, but given the rapid twist in American politics, I’m wondering what we can infer from the current situation.
We know Trump is very influenced by other leaders, most of whom are invaders themselves like Russia, Israel and China.
Russia invaded Ukraine under pretenses of denazification. Israel committed genocide using claims of anti-terrorism. Now Trump has warned of fighting the cartels. Today we see a blatant Nazi salute.
What can we expect in the short term? What could be the consequences in the long term? And now entertaining the idea of a possibility, what resistance is there from the inside? I have so many questions.
The news has been rattling, to say the least, that someone could so blatantly make the sign on live media. He has too many followers who could take that as a sign.
What’s your take? I’m hoping this could spark some good conversation.

Trump just militarized the southern border and is trying to end birthright citizenship. He’s renaming the Gulf and is rhetorically calling immigration an invasion. He begrudges Baja California Sur for not bending to his will. And he just demanded Greenland from a NATO nation.
It seems like he’s writing on the wall. I don’t think it’s zero.
This. Trump is a maniac, but he’s never going to do anything that’ll hurt the US economy.
Claudia Sheinbaum? ZOMG, our country is full of immigrants, doing important work, I’d bet a nickel, She’s paying close attention.
She’s definitely paying attention:
She explained that the “Mexico Embraces You” strategy will involve all government agencies, and deported migrants will have access to all the Welfare Programs. They will receive the “Bienestar Paisano” Card, which will provide 2,000 pesos to cover expenses for their travel back to their communities of origin. They will also be enrolled in the Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS) to access the five types of insurance provided by the Social Security Law: for Illness and Maternity; for Work Risks; for Disability and Life; for Retirement, Unemployment in Advanced Age, and Old Age; in addition to all benefits related to Childcare and other Social Benefits.
Additionally, they will be granted access to all social housing support through the Secretariat of Agrarian, Land, and Urban Development (Sedatu) and the National Workers’ Housing Fund Institute (Infonavit). Furthermore, the Secretariat of the Interior will coordinate efforts to issue identity documents and the CURP (Unique Population Registry Code) if necessary.
For the implementation of the “Mexico Embraces You” strategy, it was reported that public servants from all government agencies of Mexico have been trained; agreements have been made with the border governments of Baja California, Sonora, Chihuahua, Coahuila, Nuevo León, and Tamaulipas, as well as with the states that have the highest number of Mexicans in the United States, such as Chiapas, Guerrero, Oaxaca, Puebla, Michoacán, Guanajuato, State of Mexico, Sinaloa, and Jalisco. Additionally, actions have been coordinated with national and international organizations, the Human Rights Commission, and the Business Coordinating Council (CCE) for the reception and employment linkage of fellow countrymen.
(Summarized for length) Juan Ramón de la Fuente, the Secretary of Foreign Affairs, announced the creation of the ConsulApp app to provide security and support in emergencies for migrants. This initiative is part of strengthening the services of Mexico’s 53 consulates in the United States, including the digitalization of migrant procedures and the formation of a legal team of 4,383 people to assist, guide, and defend migrants, regardless of their immigration status or location.
That sounds very comprehensive.
