I spent my 20s addicted to crack and now I’m totally fine, if I can do it so can you. It ain’t over til it’s over.

Unless you make the kind of mistake that leads to lifelong debilitating chronic pain. It’s brutal.

My brother fucked his life up by stealing 120k worth of goods from his employer and school, he and his friends got caught and had to do their time and pay the fines.

He managed to get out on top tho, he lied himself into the army and now works there with a cushy office job for security supervision in the entire country.

I never did any crime and always worked hard, i have trouble keeping my fridge filled. The wife and i ended up living in a 14m2 room as it was all we could afford at the time. My brother has managed to live the “American dream” even though we aren’t Americans haha.

Another old coworker of mine was an alcoholic and after 16 years he got fired because of it. He left the country for a woman he met online, started a family and funded the local school…only to pass away a year in due to complications from his lifelong alcoholism.

I definitely see how you read it that way but it was not my intention lmfao it’s pretty good don’t get me wrong but it’s not worth ruining your life over, and it ruins your life pretty fucking fast. To this day, I wish I never would have even done it the first time. My life would be different as fuck.

My point was even if you think you’re horribly fucked for life, you’re probably not. Don’t give up on yourself.

Turns out addiction is more of a debuff. Congrats and admiration to you, Bizzle!

Like honestly one or two stupid debts seem like they can tank the rest of your life. If predatory loans were illegal it would save a lot of people.

Honestly, if you’re young with no real assets then bankrupcy can be a really easy one time get out of jail free card financially speaking. If you have no big assets then all it really does is cost a bit for the lawyer and completely fuck your credit for 7 years. But if you would have been spending those 7 years spending all of your money trying to manage debt and fending off debt collectors with a stick anyways then neither of those negatives actually make things any worse for you.

Loans for homes not being a thing (and you instead getting an actually decent home for cheap) would go a very long way.

The top 10% of households by wealth held 67% of total household wealth. That’s something to fix, not ignore

Honestly these issues will never be addressed unless those in power are willing to accept that redistribution of wealth is a necessity at this point for society to not collapse.

With a US flag background profile picture, it’s rare words of wisdom come from people like that. (I don’t know who the person in the picture is, so if the flag ironic or a statement in any other way then “fuck yeah, 'Murica!” I have no issues. I’d also appreciate an explanation of the picture.)

You need to miss opportunities as they’re presented to you or mess them up somehow. Self-sabotage is a trait among some common personality disorders, unfortunately.
