It sounds dumb but I wish this was as awful as Trump got. Like he was just a dumb idiot who didn’t want to visit a crash site because it crashed in the river, not realizing he would obviously visit a suitably close site on land. That isn’t evil, just super dumb and embarrassing. Still not a guy who should be in charge of anything but not overtly bigoted and evil.

No, I don’t disagree with you. I think it’s just illustrative that not only is he a monster, he’s also completely uncaring about his fellow citizens.

100%. I wake up every day fearing what he has done while I foolishly slept and took my eye off the ball (as if I can do anything to stop him). But how sweet would it be to just worry that he said something idiotic to give fuel to Stephen Colbert’s writing staff.

Instead, we got a man capable of multitudes. He can be stupid, ignorant, uncaring, hateful, racist, misogynistic and so much more, all at the same time!

Biden and Obama should go visit it and give a press conferences just to piss him off and make him look weak

You know, I’ve never thought about this, but since he brought it up… does Trump not know how to swim?

Thinking back through, I don’t remember ever seeing him anywhere near water deep enough to swim/drown in.

That’s a 10 second Photoshop away from biblical Obama. If Dems were playing to win, this should have been like a Che poster 15 years ago, Obama walking on water. Maybe would have done better in the south!

He probably has never been in a body of water that has not been owned by one of his family’s real estate ventures.

This is such an unrealistic and unfair depiction of this. Trump would never ask someone for permission to continue golfing.

Fuck trump and all that, but reasonably, going to the site of any incident is just for photo ops. Fuck all the trash that does that. It’s just as stupid as sending reporters out into a hurricane wind so they can say, “The wind is really starting to pick up, Dave-in-the-comfy-news-room-700-miles-away, and we can hear the waves pounding louder now.”

Can you imagine how things would go down if you did get donny on a boat and it capsizes in cold, flowing water?

Better than how things are going down now.

It’s depressing how, in order to surpass how things are going now, the things I come up with are basically all from some semblance of dystopian horror stories.

Hmm ya I see what ya mean

I might be okay with a photo op as a part of a larger aid framework. I took a moment to consider my house burning down. And how I might feel if a politician I respected showed up and surveyed the damage and said, “Oh no. It is sad that this house burned down.” The right words from the right person at the right time with reliable follow up could be all right.

In a normal world at least :)

To me, the right person is my neighbors, friends, or maybe family. If any politician more removed than the city council wanted to do or say something, I’d rightly think it’s just them posturing. They can shut the fuck up and vote/pass some aid measures.

It’s not like he has to fly across the country. This is literally down the road. Bill Clinton jogged further than that. Just standing on the riverbank would be enough to show people he gave the tiniest shit.

      But he doesn’t.

In this instance, we have an incompetent fool full of hatred at the top of the little hill of vile snakes. One incompetent fool who removed (or made leave, same difference in the end) the head of the agency that makes sure horror shows like this don’t happen. That just makes it worse. Let him stay in his little nest and rot.

This is pretty much it. They are numbers and a crisis that he’s tried to twist to benefit from. He cares not.
