Like he was just a dumb idiot who didn’t want to visit a crash site because it crashed in the river, not realizing he would obviously visit a suitably close site on land. I might be okay with a photo op as a part of a larger aid framework. I took a moment to consider my house burning down. And how I might feel if a politician I respected showed up and surveyed the damage and said, “Oh no. It is sad that this house burned down.” The right words from the right person at the right time with reliable follow up could be all right.
