“When Amendment 64 passed (legalizing recreational marijuana), anything that was like smokable plant material was maybe 2% to 5% THC. Now some of the plant-based stuff, the potency is up closer to 15%,” Dillard said. “

Bull fucking shit. I’ve been buying legal weed here since day one and you could get 15% anywhere. Nobody was selling 2% in a dispensary. Maybe some dude on the street selling brick weed, but never in dispensaries.

15-25% seems to be most common. I can’t personally say that I’ve seen anything above 30% in Denver.

Over 10% is high-dose? I mean, I agree with the cause, higher THC content would be more harmful at that age. But I was thinking double that.

So, you suddenly gain a lot more tolerance over the age of 26? That’s not what I’ve seen…

If anything, after the creation of red cards, and also spiking right after Amendment 64 passed, there were lots of stories floating around about how there were lots of older adults in the boomer age range that were telling budtenders “give me the highest octane” because “I know my weed” because yadda yadda, you don’t know man, back in the sixties, etc…and then having quite a bad time.

Might be less of that these days, I don’t know.

Admittedly I didn’t read the article, but I thought there were potential brain development physiology reasons up until 25 or so. Because it’s federally illegal I don’t think it has been studied specifically with weed, but I recall hearing something about that in relation to alcohol…not that it has changed that legislation though.
