U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders urged Europeans on Saturday to “stand tall against right-wing extremism” after the American vice president scolded the continent’s leaders for not accommodating parties like the neo-Nazi Alternative for Germany, which appears poised for a strong performance in the approaching general election.

The worst part about the German election isn’t even the neo-Nazi party, but that the big conservative party repeats most of their talking points.

Exactly! I’m not even convinced that they won’t enter a coalition with the nazis, or do a minority government that’s supported by the nazis. They keep repeating that they won’t do it, but it’s hard to believe considering the rest of their rhetoric. Either way, we’re definitely getting a very xenophobic and authoritarian government even if it’s another “große Koalition”, since the social democrats have been shifting further right lately, too.

I wish Sanders’ hot takes were the baseline for politicians. He’s getting too old for this shit and still sticks to what he wants to say, has substance and doesn’t give up.

Thank you for a sound message reminding them that we don’t all suck. You’re a gem, Bernie.

Didn’t some delegates vote for Clinton to become candidate although the people they represented actually voted Sanders?

At the very least, Democratic power players were actively hostile against Sanders’ bid. s
