I think Canadians are slowly coming to the realization this guy is nothing but a chode whiny-ass nerd.

Donald Trump is doing us a favour in a lot of ways.

My dad’s one of those conservatives that’s not a racist homophobe but is just kinda dumb. My mom texted me recently that he was telling a family friend that he wasn’t gunna vote for Pierre because he can’t stand him acting like a child. I’m from PP’s riding, and my dad will often say “he’s a good dude I met him” like that means anything so this is kinda awesome that he’s at least not going to vote for that loser.

My FIL is actually a long term inner circle Conservative party member, and even he’s refusing to do anything for them this round. He was mad as hell that PP got nominated.

His entire political campaign literally fell apart when Trudeau decided to step down.

His only retort that I’ve seen so far has been comparing the new potential liberal candidate to Trudeau. They have absolutely no new ideas or originality other than cut taxes and services, surprise surprise.

That’s why they went quiet for a couple weeks. Just grasping at straws now, this new strategy is basically throwing shit at the wall and hoping something sticks.

It’s going to be hard to run an election against a former Bank of Canada, Bank of England governor. Carney’s a pretty smart dude, like the Conservatives always run on economic stuff, it’s all they got going for themselves. This dudes going to be able to stand up and say, oh well I’m an actual economist, I took a leading role in steering our country away from financial destruction in 2008, like here’s my economic stance.

PP in the meantime is going to be like I’m a conservative bootlicker and ive never had a real job…

Like come on. I ain’t saying a large portion wont vote for him, they will because people are pretty stupid these days. But during the election, like that’s going to be peak US meltdown probably, you got that weighing in, and all PP is going to be able to do at a debate is hurl insults. Canadians don’t tend to really love that. It was all fun and games while everyone was locked up during COVID and getting mad to go hard at the Liberals, but with the sober second thought thats about to start really kicking in, it’s going to be interesting to see how this all shakes out. Which in itself is interesting, considering barely even a month ago it was looking like a for sure Liberal bloodbath. Still might be, but it’s getting interesting.

This is the school yard bully that pushes all the small kids around and acts like the big kid but as soon as someone bigger than him even just touches him, the little bully folds over like they’ve been shot and cries like a giant baby.

Amir Sahib of Vancouver posits, “Sure, Poilievre may have welcomed social media boosting from Elon Musk and encouraged him to build factories in Canada, but that was forever ago, in January 2025.”

Chin Yu of Halifax suggests, “It can’t be that Poilievre was anticipating support in the upcoming Federal election from a conservative US president as well as social media boosting from an out of control oligarch who has set out to openly topple liberal democracies around the globe. It’s probably Trudeau and the WTO using mind-control beams on him.”

At press time Pierre Poilievre has postponed his long-awaited unveiling of harsh insults for Donald Trump and Elon Musk, explaining it will be much easier to say such things once Canada is the 51st American state.

    It’s the grass greener effect.

With Trudeau and Biden it seemed like shifting right would be like the pendulum swinging the other way.

Now voting cons feels like doubling down on something that turned on us for no reason other than maybe colonialism.

We can just as easily swing left here in Canada, any choosing Conservatives for change doesn’t know their fucking colours if they think that’s where the grass is gunna grow.

It sucks that there’s effectively no left in Canada. Just different intensities of neoliberal. Except for maybe some municipal greens and NDPs here and there.

That’s wholly untrue, but our voting system sucks so the NDP looks like they don’t have support because of the problem with seats. There are plenty of leftwing people here and plenty more who feel forced to vote for the centrist Liberals because the Conservatives are just plain evil. The NDP, also, despite having no “power” still do a decent job keeping the Liberals moving at least somewhat in the right direction.

It isn’t a great situation, but to say there is no left in Canada is just completely wrong.

Yeah, they do. Check out how younger male lions become ‘kings’, younger male gorillas become head of the family, younger male chimps become head of the family, younger stallions become head of the herd, erc etc etc.
