    I just do not understand the reveling in cruelty.

    Even if you believe America should be totally cleared of people there illegally, enjoying their suffering is just insane.

    Of course, plenty of them don’t want America to be cleared of them, because they wouldn’t be able to hate them and enjoy their suffering. Which is what they really want.

      The top down cruelty is most likely an attempt to dehumanize these folks, probably because Americans are broadly fucking bizarre in that they will vote to fuck people over but would be willing to die for said people on a personal level. Dehumanizing folks is the best way to buffer that tendency from kicking in and causing trouble for them.
