Gallup surveyed 1,001 adults last month, and published the results on Monday (February 10).
Although a slight fall from previous years, more than half the respondents (58 per cent) still said they openly support trans women and men serving in the military.
The most support came from Democrat voters, with 84 per cent backing the idea, while only 23 per cent of Republicans felt the same way, a fall from 43 per cent in 2019. Among Independents, backing fell from 78 per cent to 62 per cent during the same period.
Too bad they did not vote like that.
Why does this matter… It is the military, a body is a body who the hell cares?

I have no insight into the US military, but I have worked in cybersecurity for the better part of a decade. I have never once met an (openly) transgender person, and I had a very broad role. I interacted with hundreds of people across teams. It was a very liberal environment, so I doubt it was fear of coming out. A bunch openly gay devs, all very well respected, got promotions at similar rates to the team average.
I think it’s more of a reddit/lemmy stereotype.
Did the poll have an option to specify you don’t support trans people serving in the military because you don’t support anyone serving in the military
“Majority of Americans support trans people dying in foreign wars”
“Trans people should be allowed to kill brown kids in the middle east too”
On the flip side, if they don’t want trans people in the military, then I’ll be quick to get a dress and some makeup and identify as a woman.
I don’t support war, at all, and I refuse to participate.
I got some bad news for you if you think it will be that easy for you to just walk away.
I’m past the age of 36, so they already don’t want me anyways. I was also diagnosed with right side motor control brain damage at age 16 or 17 or so, after a bad accident that literally ripped my face open.
They couldn’t draft me if they even wanted to.
Edit: The military will charge you over $30,000 if you don’t disclose disqualifying medical issues.

Hey, if it came down to brass tacks on my homeland, I’ll definitely do my best to defend myself, friends and family.
I’m just not the type to feel I have any right or desire to go elsewhere to fight some war, no matter how much money they might offer.
So what I’m taking away from this is support is still over 50%, but falling rapidly.
Still rising last polls I checked. Unbelievable, but unfortunately true.
