    I wish, most good useful intel is still locked behind a paywall. There is so much science, medicine, and math that you can’t even access without purchasing from academic publishers.

    The powers that be don’t want you to think critically, because that limits their ability to control you.

    Really we should be teaching skepticism and how to recognize logical fallacies in grade school.

      Blue state with good education standards here, we were taught critical thinking in school from a young age.

      Not sure how effective it was, but there was a definite emphasis on analysis and logical coherency in the curriculum over rote.

        You don’t get that in red states. Religion is fundamentally incompatible with the scientific method and rationalism, so it’s generally looked over in conservative curriculums.

        Yeah, I learned specifically critical thinking, research, and vetting sources in a (blue now, but at the time) purple state. People from my same small town went through the same schooling and apparently rejected all of that shit.
