Dont worry it will totally happen and we won’t need a functioning executive branch to enforce the judges ruling on the executive branch.

Yup. This is the current line in the sand. We’ve crossed several already, to be clear, but the important one right now is this particular showdown between the Executive and Judicial branches of government. Congress is working on getting their shit together, but overall the Legislative branch has not been effective lately at holding up its responsibility as a check on Executive or Judicial powers. The Judicial side has been checkered, at best. And the Executive side is led by a reflexive fascist.

We really need the whole “checks & balances” thing to work if we are going to try and convince the rest of the world we are still a functioning democracy. I’m losing confidence that the problems of our nation will be resolved diplomatically, and I’m equally worried that we’re not ready to meet this moment in time to avert some very troubling times in the U.S. of A.

OK, I meant there are a few progressive voices screaming into the void, of course, but it’s what we have at the moment and I’m trying my best to stay optimistic

I think they meant that Congress are literally gathering poops from various sources to feed their shit-eating grins.

That moment will trigger a Constitutional crisis the likes of which we have not seen since 1860.

Yeah, but until now Republicans have been denying it. Come Monday either Trump backs down or the Republicans in Congress will essentially have to admit they are fine with giving up power to a dictatorship

Or SCOTUS will bail him out like they did with the initial freeze, then I think it will be obvious to most, with exception of his base, that all three branches are corrupt and complicit in the coup.

The supreme Court is saying POTUS needs to listen to the court I thought, so there is no bailout above it. And they voted 5-4 against the administration I believe.

I’m cynical about our SCOTUS. While the “Supreme Court affirmed Ali’s earlier ruling but wrote that he “should clarify what obligations the government must fulfill” to comply with his ruling.” I don’t put it past them to pick it apart.

Our government is cooked. If you’re the last one out, don’t forget to turn out the lights.

    Ha! I literally laughed!

Whats the over/under on how long til bye bye constitution? I noticed that he was declaring a lot of emergencies during his tirade. Just throwing spaghetti at the wall til something sticks, and then martial law. Not sure they’ll go Sadam Hussein style and just read a bunch of names or what. I feel it coming tho.
