As Washington ramps up its pressure on Zelenskyy to step aside, his rivals are talking to Trump’s team.

Seriously. Buying into western rhetoric is one of the stupidest things non-member nations can do.

They don’t realize that westerners only look out for their own interests. If you’re not part of their “in-group” then they will only use you for their gain.

Even if you are in the ‘in-group’ you still risk getting shanked if it so suits the big boys. it’s still the world of geopolitics anyway, there are no permanent allies or enemies between states, only interests. Even now US dumps the whole Russia-Ukraine stuff on Europe despite them being the major contributor/co-conspirators to the project. EU is also too stubborn or in too deep to get out of dodge, but still.

You act as if this is not the case for every country in the world, past and present with very few and temporary exceptions

With the RUSSIANS, just fucking say it!!!

Four senior members of Donald Trump’s entourage have held secret discussions with some of Kyiv’s top political opponents to Volodymyr Zelenskyy, just as Washington aligns with Moscow in seeking to lever the Ukrainian president out of his job.

Petro Poroshenko the former President of Ukraine, and Yulia Tymoshenko a former Prime Minister of Ukraine are Russian now?

Hey, if you take a realist position this war in the west, you are either a russian, a russian asset or a victim of russian propaganda. Any anti-war or Anti-Zelensky force in Ukraine is by these people’s definition most definitely a Russian asset.

Poroshenko who’s on record publicly speaking about his genocidal intent behind the bombing of ethnic Russians in Donbas, “may or may not” be working for Russia.

Fucking libs I stg, every bit as racist as conservatives and hardly any brighter.

        They’re working for them, yeah?

Edit: I’m looking more deeply into them. I only had a rudimentary knowledge. They may or may not be working for them.

Wow excellent analysis, anything against US Interests is Russian. And you base this upon what exactly?

No, you’re right. They may or may not be working for them. Regardless, if they’re willing to go behind Zelenskyy’s back with the republicans in the US, they aren’t on Ukraine’s side and helping the Russians. They may not be doing it intentionally.

Perhaps, or perhaps they told Trump to fuck off. Or perhaps they don’t agree with Zelensky’s approach to ending the war and are trying to replace him, etc etc. I think it’s disingenuous and dangerous to assume that if someone doesn’t 100% agree with the current president of Ukraine that they are traitors.

Why would they meet in secret?

                Also, this:

The senior Trump allies held talks with Ukrainian opposition leader Yulia Tymoshenko, a remorselessly ambitious former prime minister, and senior members of the party of Petro Poroshenko, Zelenskyy’s immediate predecessor as president, according to three Ukrainian parliamentarians and a U.S. Republican foreign policy expert.

The discussions centered on whether Ukraine could hold quick presidential elections. These are being delayed in line with the country’s constitution because Ukraine remains under martial law. Critics of holding elections say they could be chaotic and play into Russia’s hands, with so many potential voters serving on the front lines or living abroad as refugees.

For fucking real. I mean, it is Politico, they’re owned by a POS (at least they were last September):

        💲 Business Insider & Politico

        Owned by Axel Springer SE

In 2021 it was acquired for reportedly over 1 billion USD by Axel Springer SE, a German news publisher and media company. Axel Springer is Europe’s largest newspaper publisher and had previously acquired Business Insider. Unlike employees of its German newspapers, the employees of Politico do not have to sign Axel Springer’s mission statement that expresses support for Israel and America’s and Europe’s transatlantic alliance.

        Source

        Mathias Döpfner is CEO

He is the CEO and 22% owner of media group Axel Springer SE. From 2016 to 2022 he was president of the Federal Association of Digital Publishers and Newspaper Publishers (BDZV).

In 2020, Friede Springer appointed Mathias Döpfner as her successor through a combination of gifting, selling, and transferring voting rights associated with her shares in the company. As part of this transition, Springer sold a 4.1% share directly to Döpfner and gifted him an additional 15%, thereby increasing his direct ownership to 22%. Furthermore, Springer transferred to Döpfner the voting rights for her remaining 22% stake in the company.

In February 2023 The Economist reported on Döpfner’s plans to expand the Springer group’s media presence in the United States.

I saw news on this yesterday- pretty sure all of Zelenskyy’s political opponents unanimously made public statements saying they would not have an election before the end of the war.
