Argentina’s US-backed libertarian President Javier Milei is using an emergency decree to take a huge loan from the IMF, deepening the debt trap that has devastated his country, fueling high inflation.

That guy seems to be winning so hard, he’s going to end up with a free famine.

Can he even do greater austerity? Thought he pretty much gutted everything they could.

I mean, if you’re an AnCap and want to destroy the state and replace it with bank contracts, this is definitely the way to do it.

Interesting seeing this after the flurry of positive articles he’s been receiving over the last month.

all those positive articles were puff pieces from western media, they’re terrified of people moving away from capitalism, argentina was, until recently, socialist, so the USA and their allies did everything possible to cause them problems. so when a capitalist won the election they just started spamming how great he was and all that shit.

it’s all bullshit. it’s all lies. you can’t believe a word the media prints.

Argentina was never socialist, but Milei was propped because USA grip on the continent was dangerously loosening with leftists being elected in various countries so they did pushed the IMF puppet because they always keep countries wide open for US imperialism.
