I got myself banned from /politics, never got a message about it. Would have been nice so I could remove it from my subscriptions.

Hmm. Well I hope they aren’t banning people for reasonable expressions of free speech … assuming it’s respectful and not in a racist or hateful way…

I know there are some instances with agendas and what not but Lemmy.world is supposed to be neutral and reasonable

These kinds of opinions cannot be held by rational adults without being racist and hateful. Squashing that kind of fascist rhetoric early isn’t banning free speech; it’s not an agenda. It’s just demonstrably true that his rhetoric is intrinsically racist and hateful. So the troll, comes whinging around here trying to stir up so more drama because that’s what they feed on.

Thats the thing. Without knowing what comment, I can’t be sure I didn’t word anything in a weird way, or something like that.

People are very quick to call racism on immigration stuff, and it can be tricky sometimes.

I didn’t know that the modlog was public, thanks! Still would have been good to get a message.

And it was anti-trans, apparently. I can’t see the context, but that’s the message on it, a rule 6 violation. And the only comment on there I made that day was “I mean if your against an anti-pedo bill, you’re probably pro-pedo.”

Methinks the mods are confusing transpeople with pedos, somehow.

Just to clarify, in case you weren’t aware, American (and possibly beyond) conservatives are trying to equate acknowledging the existence of trans people with grooming children for sexual deviance. They are passing bigoted legislation intended to deny civil rights to trans individuals and calling it “anti-pedo” legislation.

I don’t know the context of your comment, but you should double check the text of the bill, because opposing a so-called “anti-pedo” bill may have nothing at all to do with pedophilia. You can’t assume that it is exactly what it says on the label.

In any case, I would love to gotten the message. I know my opinions aren’t super popular on lemmy, as left wing lemmy is, but I think it’s still valid.

I read the text, it basically says that parents have the right to know about their child and what the schools are doing for their child, and that gender stuff can’t be taught up to 3rd grade. 90% of it is stuff that the parents need to be notified about. All of that seems extremely reasonable, and I still can’t see why anyone would think it’s transphobic.

Here’s a direct link to the text of the bill, as signed into law. https://www.flsenate.gov/Session/Bill/2022/1557/BillText/er/PDF

I love it when trolls whine that they’re not treated as well as reddit treats them.
