What the fuck is this graphic? This feels like something Canada Proud would post if they were left wing.
Less of a left wing thing and more of a pearl clutching holier than though vibe.
tl;dr - multiple Canada-focused voting websites, using the royal We, semi-anonymous authors, all referencing each other and 1 entertainment company.
…
I noticed their Who We Are page wasn’t much help either. Lots of WE references; no names. Same with the groups they reference working with: Cooperate for Canada, and Common Ground Ontario.
All the nonspecific We-talk reminded me of a very sketchy vote recommendation site that was being amplified during the Ontario election, so I wasn’t too surprised to find it referenced on the Common Ground blog they linked to. smartvoting.ca has significantly changed it’s About page since I saw it last: no more multi-paragraph WE speechifying, and only one mention of the “proprietary, unbiased, logic-based” method they use to decide their recommendations…
Using a proprietary weighting system, the algorithm correct polling biases and assess regional trends to refine our recommendations.
I’m a worst case scenario type, so I suspect ALL these sites are run by the same handful of people, but it’s just a guess. After spending a weekend listening to these 3 talk to each other about vote reform and strategic voting, I also suspect they’re being used to mirror those real campaigns through astroturf (in this case, multiple websites referencing each other) whether they know it or not.
Whatever good intentions the Content Creators have, Polaris Entertainment is hyperfocused on our electoral system. Too easy to seed disinfo and voter apathy with work like this, so it doesn’t hurt anyone to keep an eye on them anyway.
[ETA https://lemmy.world/post/25232434 - where I saw the vote recommendation site and ended up listening to their podcast 2 months ago. apologies if it’s linked wrong.]
PP is not interested on “handling” Trump, just capitulating to him.
Handling his balls perhaps, cupping them gently, with a light tickle
polishing his button mushroom tip.
What was the bullshit question? Also, I don’t get what this piece is trying to convey, exactly, but I appreciate the lengths it goes to in order to technically not be slander.
Fuck Polievre and all, but I don’t take kindly to smear campaign tactics, and neither should you - no matter how important the cause
The question that Carney got asked was if he intended to repay for the flights to go meet Macron and the King last month. The journalist clearly wanted to paint Carney as a frivolous spender or something like that.
Thank you. That was indeed a bullshit question
The “journalist” was from Rebl “news”, IIRC.
So less of a journalist and more of a lying right wing shit disturber.
Yup. Gotta love it when the guy tries to call out Carney on doing what several Conservative premiers have done over and over these last few months without being questioned by media. Hell, Smith did a meet and greet in Florida just last week, and Ford gives more interviews to Fox News than any Canadian outlets it seems.
While every ounce of my being agrees with you, I have a feeling that some people only respond to these kind of tactics.
It legitimately scares me how many blue signs I see in southern Ontario.
They have a lot of money. Some places that the cons have no chance in still have more blue signs than anything else. Don’t get complacent, regardless.
Same in Northern Ontario. I give them the benefit of “Anything but Liberal” thought instead of “Destroy Canada”
I’ll take educated if centrist liberal over insane trump wanna be every time.
Regardless of the polling numbers. Dont forget to VOTE!!
You can vote most days at most Elections Canada Offices across Canada before April 22nd. There’s also the advanced polling days as well and other ways to vote.

I read a tagline somewhere that went: “You need a Carney to deal with clowns.” Should use that.

I’m a lifelong NDP voter and this will be the first time I vote Liberal to prevent the Conservatives from sneaking in. I hate it. Fuck party politics and the need to vote “strategically”.
The eternally useless but certain to be re-elected Bardish Chagger is my MP, and I am going to take pleasure in voting NDP (if there isn’t an animal lib candidate).
I’m normally an NDP supporter as well. Campaigned for the NDP in the Ontario election. The federal NDP has lost the script. They need new leadership and badly. They’ve lost the union vote which should be impossible but here we are (yes, union heads might support the NDP but rank and file members don’t)
lol. Love the social network liberal echo chambers on these platforms.
I’m no liberal but your comment has brought nothing to the table here except virtue signaling. Usually I just scroll past these posts, because there’s others that actually invite discussion.
A comments a comment. If you don’t like it, disparaging it doesn’t change the fact.
