Red isn’t that bad. Red means anal fissure or something. Uncomfortable but not dangerous.
Dark red or black, though…that’s bad.

You can make it light-brown and cleaning your ass might be less visually aggravating, I would still prefer white personally, but I would have though that people would have optimized the colorimetry of toilet paper as it has been done with surgical robes and things that might involve blood to create a lesser visual shock
