i stayed on a sailboat with my uncle and family and it just had a bedroom, galley, living area (where additional beds were), and a bathroom and that was enough. you would never need a boat as big as that picture because you’d never see 75% of it.

these super yachts are a symbol of doing crimes in international water.

plus it’s the billionaire’s insurance against the climate change they all fuel. they need huge staffs to care for them because they don’t have any skills. at all. even a little.

It’s so he has room for all the people who pretend to be his friends, but really just wanted to hang out on a yacht for free.

I always find it funny how well the roach people like me can do without versus how much of giant children rich people are. Rich people just kill themselves when they think about having to live like I do

The thing is though, you’ve probably got some skills they would need on that boat…

Bet they need a barista onboard…

So, you (we, us) could be going to all those same luxury locations, sleeping on the same boat, doing simple jobs and just slowly sailing around in the sunshine too… without having to pay for it (admittedly not getting paid much either)

And when “the boss” is off on a helicopter trip to some lame party, then we’d still be there, having a beach bbq, enjoying the good life.

That’s what I found out too late in life… I should’ve done boating jobs in my school / college holidays and worked up to the luxury jobs

Look at this one. They thing the staff gets to live in the comfy parts of the ship and enjoy the sunshine. You’ll be lucky if your room is above water and has a window. Imagine working for a company where you not only slept on the premises but all your free time was spent in the office building, with the occasional chance to explore the neighborhood now and then when the boss decides to unlock the front door.

              Ho ho.

Yeah, a friend of mine does the entertainment systems on some of these, so I only have anicdotal stories to go by, but, yep, I wish I’d done that years ago.

Also… I work a tough job where it’s often 12 hr days, so living in the building… I’ve even got the t-shirt 😉

I don’t like being on the water, I have a serious phobia of it. I wouldn’t be able to live with myself working for someone like that either. It’s a big reason why I’m self employed

Preface: I do not agree with this lifestyle or billionaires in general.

That 75% is for the crew / staff. Schultz and family (and guests) won’t be driving the boat, cleaning the boat, making the meals, serving the drinks etc. All of that is done by a small army of staff who all need a place to stay in the boat. The extent of the family and guests’ interaction with the ship and its running will be deciding to go somewhere and having the captain and crew make it happen, and OKing the menu from the head chef.

What a waste of money and resources. Like wtf would you need a boat that big? Are they expecting another flood?

It’d be a real shame if someone did something to sink it, huh? I bet they are surprisingly unprotected once they get out into the open ocean.

Why do rich people think they need something like this? I can understand wanting a nice staffed boat to take you places, but not something the size of a cruise ship.

What a drag that thing must be to find somewhere big enough to park.

No shit why not build a space ship? Probably cost about the same and at the same time they fuck off to another galaxy.

If you don’t mind inexplicably exploding once every 5-10 launch attempts, sure.

Actually yeah, let’s make that the must-have wealth hoarder objective… 😈

I see rode fietspad. It is probably in NL somewhere. It would be a shame if people showed up and vandalized it.
