So… we’ve got local thieves stealing firefighting equipment, and eco disaster tourists flying drones and running blockades.

Stupid really has hit a new level.

Their arguments seems to be that the gear was just sitting there not being used when it could have been being used to protect their property so they were within their rights to take it.

Can we give them stickers to put on their trucks, ATVs, and boats so that everyone else knows that if they see them sitting somewhere not being used it’s ok to take them if you could be using them?

Don’t they realize that this is the definition of socialist communism?

Well, as long as they’re OK with people not like them doing it too.

Excuse me, the Convoy of Truth and Freedom! /s

It was just on the CBC National that it was partly or mostly non-locals, or at least not people who live in the disaster zone, as well.

We wish to engage in a diplomatic and peaceful conversation with checkpoint officers to seek clarity

They don’t need to gather to do that, they could just send one person off…and they don’t even need to go to the checkpoint to get that answer

Organizers wrote that their intention was to start the process of dismantling the blockade

But that’s the opposite of what they just claimed and would explain why they needed a group

I have a feeling some of these people just want to loot.
