I thought that not giving them a neutral option made this meaningless, but…

For data outside the United States, this analysis draws on nationally representative surveys of 28,333 adults conducted from Jan. 8 to April 26, 2025. All surveys were conducted over the phone with adults in Canada, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Poland, South Korea, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom. Surveys were conducted face-to-face in Argentina, Brazil, India, Indonesia, Israel, Kenya, Mexico, Nigeria, South Africa and Turkey. In Australia, we used a mixed-mode probability-based online panel. In the U.S., we surveyed 3,605 adults from March 24 to 30, 2025. Everyone who took part in this survey is a member of the Center’s American Trends Panel (ATP). This report also includes some findings from a separate ATP survey of 8,937 U.S. adults conducted from May 5 to 11, 2025.

…I think it was already meaningless from the very beginning.

Nobody trusts anyone in hungary and everyone thinks everyone else is trying to hurt them. Our neighbouring countries literally have sayings about us that captures this.

I used to be a most people are good kind of person, then covid happened and people let the world see their true colors. Yeah so many people are assholes. There are a lot of good people out there for sure, but I went from 80% of people are good to 40% of people are good in a few years. And since covid it seems like the empathy bucket ran dry for a lot of people. People have become so self centered and selfish the past few years, just straight up assholes.

The contrast between the US and Canada is quite stark considering how similar countries they are on the surface.

And I don’t mean that as an insult to the Canadians!

India being near the top seems pretty dystopian given they’re also struggling with a Nazi infestation.

It’d be interesting to see a before/after of Rupert Murdoch run media getting established in places…

The US numbers don’t surprise me at all.

Both sides believe to be victims of the other team’s malice.

Covid really showed that there were two USes, and the Election, where we knew exactly what we’d be getting, further capped it off.

Canada’s numbers are also not surprising. Even though we have just as many assholes here as anywhere else, we have the same “Be polite” culture that most Commonwealth countries do.

It’s just that we are often juxtaposed against the US as our closest neighbor.

As a Canadian, I just wanted to apologize to those 7%. We’ll try harder. Sorry.
