Given the wrapped Pixel phone, tablet and watch in the screenshot, a good guess is that Google Store will celebrate the company’s 25th anniversary by discounting the Europe prices of those devices in a week. So if you’re in Europe and were planning to buy a Pixel, try to hold off a bit 😁
Google Store celebrated that same anniversary a bit early in Japan and slashed the prices of Pixel devices by 25%: https://9to5google.com/2023/07/30/google-store-25th-birthday/
There’s no guarantee we will see the same discounts, but it’s worth a shot!
EDIT: clarified that it’s in Europe only for now.
But keep in mind, Pixel 8 is due in a month’ish.
Yep, but the prices are likely to be jacked: https://lemmy.world/post/4435566. So the Pixel 7 line remains interesting.
If we’re lucky and we get the same 25% discount as in Japan, the price of the Pixel 7a on Google Store would fall from €509 to €381.75 (compare that to the best deal currently on Amazon that is €479). That would make it just unbeatable.
I expect other retailers to drop the prices of the Pixel 6a as a result, otherwise people would just prefer the Pixel 7a on Google Store as the prices would be too close.
Nice, I do not need a new phone plus in my case the Pixels do not fit my usage, but my mother’s phone is getting old and I have been thinking of getting a tablet…
But not sure about the pixel tablet, that said the Chromecast thing they have if it works well seems cool.
There is no remindme (yet), right? Cause I’ll save your post, but I will forget about it!
There’s one on Mastodon and I think it should work here, I’ll try to find it.
