The least destructive sports: Let me fling this ball at 120mph (at another human being).

The most destructive sports: Let me fling myself at top speed at another human being.

I know, it’s rough. I remember watching StarCraft 2 back in the day, and one of my favorites was “WhiteRa”, and they always made comments about him being ancient at 32…

Good ol’ “Special Tactics” WhiteRa. It’s funny, because most of the top SC1 players are now that age.

I’m old enough to have played OG Star Craft, v1.0.3 v1.05 on CD ROM on an AMD K6-2 with 64MB of RAM…where’d my ibuprofen go?

Same here. SC1 and Civ II were the first computer games that I owned.

I didn’t play Civ II, I was into Starcraft, Incoming (1998 Rage Software), the Motocross Madness demo, Space Cadet, and RCT.

Yes! Special tactics… I also remember twitch chat (I think it might have still been justin.tv then) would laugh about how many tea breaks he took per day.

          It feels like ages ago.

Meanwhile in F1 a 42 year old is dicking on everyone else who isn’t driving a Red Bull.

I appreciate Alonso making still feel young and keep the insane fantasy that I will one day be a race driver alive.

Let’s hope he can get into a good car and set a record for the oldest age to win a title. Although it’s quite hard as the oldest title winner is Fangio for his fifth title when he was 46 years old.

I don’t think he’ll be able to get another title, but I sure hope he can at least get a race win

He broke records for youngest WDC, pole sitter, podium, race winner, etc. I fully expect he’s going to set records for oldest.

I’ve been watching sports my whole comprehensive life. Just last season, for the first time ever, I was older than the head coach of my team. I mean I still am, but you get it.

Professional sports is great. You can have a whole career before you start your career as a B-grade advertisement actor or sports collumnist (if you’re lucky).

Must have been somewhat of a problem for the sport back when you were a child. Especially when you were between the ages of 0 and 3.

40 is young to be a senior developer.

thought having more than 5 years of experience makes you a senior dev

You become a senior dev when you hold enough of the secret knowledge in your head that they don’t dare sack you.

I’m a principal dev (the step higher than senior in my company) and I’m under 40. I think it mostly depends on luck and being in the right place at the right time.

Also, titles vary wildly among different roles at different companies. A junior dev in some MANGA team could be considered a principal engineer at a small startup.
