Actually, I just checked the package and its “butcher cut bacon”.
They could write “ice cream” on there, but it would still be ham
I’d call that Canadian bacon.

As a Japanese guy, I’d say this is Japanese enough to call it Japanese inspired. At home, we called it medamayaki Gohan. It was one of the first things I learned to make for myself, right after tamagokake Gohan, which is just raw egg on rice.
Thanks for the correct dish name. I had seen similar bowls of egg and a protein but I just didn’t know what they were called.
