I doubt it’s AI, since I’ve seen this years ago. But it’s likely fake, yes. (It’s just that fake things now are all labeled “AI”, and irks me)
This one was real, though.

That is Marc Brown from ABC 7 Los Angeles, and this old forum thread discusses it a bit. The links are dead, but they mention a Marque Clark, who was arrested in 2006. So it’s plausibly (but not confirmed) real. Digging through newspapers, it looks like Clark was arrested c. September 20, 2006, assuming he was the one in the sketch.

I didn’t ask you.
you hear squeaking as your co-anchor wheels away from you
Folding Ideas has come a long way since then.
Edit: There’s an AI slop video (more than one, even) floating around from this image, but I feel like I’ve seen this one before genAI was commonplace. I wonder if the video was generated from what started out as a static shitpost.
Edit 2: Nope, I’m misremembering. Look at his eyes (beyond the fact I couldn’t find credible evidence these reporters exist and there’s no news channel watermark due to what would’ve been a crop if this were real).
Edit 3: Might be traceable to a TikTok account previously called ‘curious_flicks’ but now ‘once_a_pun_a_time’ whose whole deal is genAI slop videos. This isn’t their only slop local news report, and it’s not even their only slop report doing the sketch likeness thing. The video from the OP is here, so that YT Shorts one was a plagiarized version of AI slop. We live in lovely times.
Thank god you answered the all important “is it AI” question. I’m glad it is. I hope people are upset it is.
Nah, @[email protected] had basically already answered it; I just decided to follow up.
hmmm
He came in through the bathroom window.
Hide yo kids. Hide yo wife.
This is clearly a howdunnit.
