When I logged in today, I noticed that I had 3 pending registrations on my instance. I haven’t really come up with any rules, any moderation policy…really anything.

I could use some advice. I want to be as permissive as possible within reason.

Thank you in advance.

EDIT: Edited title for clarity. I have a functional idea of how the tools themselves work.

The easiest thing to do imo would be to just copy the rules from one of the main instances and stick to these. Then just monitor the activity on your instance from time to time and review applications and reports.

I understand well enough how the tech works. My question is more about the social aspect, so I don’t really consider it to be a tech question.

I don’t know, it’s your instance… Either do what you want, or just set up a basic rule like “be nice and keep it legal” and then see how it develops. I don’t have an instance but I started a few communities and that’s my “policy” if you can call it that.
