Peters was convicted in 2024 after prosecutors showed she facilitated unauthorized access to Mesa County voting equipment and helped expose sensitive system data. Her actions were driven by the explosion of far-right conspiracy theories that the 2020 election was stolen from President Donald Trump through voting machines that switched votes to help former President Joe Biden win.
The Colorado judge who sentenced Peters to nine years in prison called her a “charlatan” who peddled “snake oil” and said she showed no remorse for her actions.
But Gov. Jared Polis (D) commuted Peters’ sentence last month, after months of pressure from Trump, MAGA fanatics, and election deniers. In Polis’ letter to Peters informing her that her sentence would be commuted, Polis wrote that Peters learned her lesson.
“Importantly, your application demonstrates taking responsibility for your crimes, and a commitment to follow the law going forward,” Polis said.
As far as trying to steal elections, the “they’re” is more like “we’re”.
“There’s no way they won an election that we rigged so thoroughly without cheating!”
Here is the election results from Tina Peters county where she claimed massive voter fraud:
Kanye West got 197 votes Trump won by a huge majority. Now they expect idiots to believe that the people of LA (Commiefornia), are actually all trying to vote Maga.Throw her back in, and bring Jared this time too
Does not seem to have learned her lesson.
When justice is not delivered by the formal system, people’s justice is the last resort.
Y’all really could have helped by clarifying who “they” is.
