I have no idea what this bush is called, but for three or so weeks out of the year it smells fantastic. Very sweet smelling.

    Could be wild privet… I only know it as “Liguster”, but Wikipedia gave me that English page…

      Privets do look visually similar. Our plant is probably related, but I’m not sure if it’s a privet proper. I’ve never seen berries and the leaves are a bit smaller. Evidently privets can be invasive. Ours is certainly hardy, but I’ve never seen it trying to spread in the 10 years we’ve lived here.

    My best guess would be honeysuckle. Usually smell great and they look like the right sort of flowers.

    I don’t know the name either but it looks like the one our neighbors had that we called the bee bush because bees loved it. And it smells so delicious!
