I rewatched The Great Escape, I haven’t seen it in forever.

Still one of the best heist movies of all time. The only shame is that they had to make so many of the main characters Americans to get the thing made.

Watched Disclosure Day, was disappointing. Like a movie Spielberg wanted to do since the 80s but only got around to it now and didn’t update the story. Lot of plotholes.

Resurrection (Bi Gan) was a confusing experience going in blind but I liked it.

Power ballad was all right. More of a nothing-to-watch Couch film

Supergirl 2/5 - It’s commits one of the biggest sins in media, being boring. I really don’t have much to say besides this had almost zero impact on me

Jackass: Best and Last 2.5/5 - I like Jackass stunts more than the gross stuff, and since they’re getting older and can’t do as many stunts, we’re left with more gross stuff. In an appropriate use of the phrase, they really enjoyed smelling their own farts here

Terminator 2: Judgement Day 4.5/5 - This was a 35th anniversary screening of T2: Judgement Day and it opens on death and destruction. Piles of human skulls crushed by robot feet and destroyed highway in the background. Then the text appears “Los Angeles 2029 A.D.” and I’d say it got a nervous chuckle from the audience

Passengers 2.5/5 - It was on, and apparently engaging enough to not do something else. I’m aware of that one video that says this could be cut in a different order but I still don’t know how much mileage you can get out of the Ratt

Gail Daughtry and the Celebrity Sex Pass 3/5 - I think these disjointed collection of scenes style comedies are going to be very of our time when we look back. Like the early 2000s sex comedy, and the disaster comedies of the 2010s

Bad Times at the El Royale 3/5 - I’m aware Cynthia Erivo is a good singer, I don’t need her to sing 5 songs in a movie that is absolutely not a musical. It feels a little too slow to be doing the Tarantino crime comedy thing, and a little too scattered to be taken seriously

I treated myself to a Mubi subscription this week and have watched three movies so far. (Like stories of old has an affiliate link that gets you 30 free days if anyone wants it)

Die my love. Great cast and acting in this. I’m not a huge fan of the “lady loses her mind” type movie but Jennifer Lawrence pulls it off very well.

Sentimental Value. More great casting and a great look at a disfunctional family really well implemented.

Orphan. Set after the failed uprising in Hungary. Beautiful cinematography. Beautiful.

I’ve just started My Father’s Shadow. This one’s looking amazing so far.
