One of my absolute favourite bands
Mine, too
Yissss
I got to a show late one time, and I was so dejected when I got there and Mikael said “We are going to play two more songs for you tonight.”
I left over 40 minutes later, after the two songs+two encore songs, not at all disappointed.
Another time, they came back out for encore songs and for the final song, he says
“BLACK
ROSE…
hahahaha i am kidding here is Demon of the Fall though”
Love them so much.
Mikael is such a wholesome and down to earth guy
I think it was at the Red Rocks show he told the story about meeting Ronny James Dio, and he was like, I was so fucking starstruck, and Dio was like, no I’m fucking starstruck. Great l stuff.
Jokes on you sis, that’s what I was already doing anyway.
When your hookup tries to kiss you instead of taking off their shoes when entering you enter your apartment after a date.

“You get to pick one song”
Edge of Sanity - Crimson
I love melodeath!
love that bloodbath album
Left Hand Path is full of bangers
Y’all got any recs?
Depends wildly on what type of death metal you prefer. There are some more classic death recs from Sweden, particularly Entombed, but Sweden is most popular for developing melodic death. At The Gates and In Flames are the one-two punch for getting into the melodic death sub genre. Soilwork is even more approachable, sort of the bridge to death core in some ways.
Amon Amarth is a little bit of classic, a little melodic, a little black metal, and a little symphonic.
People will argue with me that Opeth is melodic, but they basically are in a different way, and more progressive than anything, especially these days.
Illdisposed, early Amorphis, Carpathian Forest, Demigod are all great
Well have you listened to Clayman by In Flames yet?
