Yeah it’s weird they are acting like that’s a scandal now when all that has happened is what every rational person assumed would happen taking a country’s most important aircraft from a foreign nation - months ago.

I mean, yeah, obviously a plane made by a foreign country is not going to have all the security and defensive capabilities of one made in the US, because we’re not about to give all that trade secret/top secret information to a foreign country to put that stuff on the plane.
There’s also the fact that we know the full providence of this plane, it wasn’t built for Trump, it was built for some other rich asshole and then ended up sort of being a drain on Qatar, so they White Elephanted it.

I mean, based on publicly available criteria and descriptions… it probably is.
Its one thing for you or I to say “That plane probably has a deficiency in its countermeasures” because we have no inside information and no way to really have any. And no reputable news outlet would run that story.
But for somebody who works in the government who WOULD be privvy to that information to say it? It holds a lot more weight and provides a vulnerability that could lead to the death of the president (which, for the purposes of all the fbi agents reading this: would be bad).
Its obviously a temper tantrum by said potus because he can’t show off the expensive gift his new beau gave him. And there are some very serious questions about how anyone signed off on him flying in it at all (for MANY reasons…). But… this kinda IS a pretty serious leak.
Its similar to how you or I can talk about how John Hinckley Jr was told to bust a cap in reagan’s ass by his robot dog and it isn’t an issue. But if George HW Bush started talking about how his dinner guest’s brother was being manipulated by a robot dog?

So like, sure Trump might love to fly in this and have some wink wink nudge nudge… okay well ignore that part, has a blatant deal with them, I can’t imagine how any other president/vice-president would ever fly in it. You could never really trust that the Qatari couldn’t somehow disable the plane at will.
