Very strong statement from an organisation like UEFA. But a welcome statement. Infantino is scum.
I doubt it will go through (as initially announced) now but I do kinda want to see the absolute farce of a World Cup without Europe. I wonder where they would host the 2030 World Cup seen as it was supposed to be Morocco, Spain, and Portugal.
I think South America said that they would Boycott with them, but I may have misheard. But imagine it without them too…
Infantino has tapped the nails in his own coffin. Surely he can’t stay on after this, and I believe an election is coming up.
Argentina won’t boycott. The head of their FA is and the head of CONMEBOL are friends of Infantino.
It’d be absolutely ridiculous for Brazil to sign on to this. They’re making such a show about rejecting Trump and US influence in finance and such to just sign onto a project led by Jared Kushner’s brother.

UEFA’s decisive action now throws the ball into the court of FIFA’s other confederations – CAF (Africa), AFC (Asia), CONCACAF (North and Central America and the Caribbean), OFC (Oceania) and CONMEBOL (South America).
- AFC and CONCACAF have already both expressed deep concern at the lack of consultation over the proposal.
- CAF’s executive committee announced yesterday that it will meet next week to evaluate the proposal.
- CONMEBOL and OFC have not commented publicly.
- CNN has reached out to all those confederations for their reaction to the breaking news and whether they plan to follow UEFA’s stance.
CONCACAF have rejected the proposal but haven’t joined the boycott.
That’s good, I think the big ones are Conmebol, after UEFA.
AFAIK, they haven’t made any statement yet.
The head of the Argentina FA and the head of CONMEBOL are very good friends with Infantino. Same with CAF. They aren’t going to do anything meaningful.
Last I heard, they are going to leave the decision to their individual members.
Yeah, UEFA was, “We’re boycotting this travesty!” while CONCACAF was, “We’re angry you didn’t ask us first!”
I know next to zero about UEFA.
I would trust UEFA on any issue over FIFA.
I know a lot about FIFA. They are a very corrupt organization that does some shitty things… and they are 100x better than FIFA.
