Wait this is insane? Does this finally mean we can back up and restore app data without a root-capable device? All the existing Shizuku-based backup tools don’t have data restore so they’re incredibly limited in value. For years, the answer to “can I back up the data for my installed apps and restore it on a new device / the same device after a reinstall without root” has been “lol get fucked”.

Yeah on reading more, it looks like this was still possible with Shizuku-aided backups. The apps that are untouchable without root are the ones that store their stuff in data/data, not android/data. Still nice for the intended purpose of syncing and cross-saving though!
A working relatively mature appearing app only a week old and nobody’s questioning it.
