We call her Aunt Dolly in my household. RIP Aunt Dolly.
The imagination library is fantastic. My kid knows Dolly because she sent them books every month. They have aged out of it now but they still talk about Dolly sending books.
My niece’s reception teacher funded her class’s Dolly book programme. Coat of Many Colours was the first one she got, and I showed her the song on YouTube and she became a fan for a while, singing it with the southern twang. We watched the ones of Dolly narrating the books too. She’s probably forgotten about it now though.
Dolly Parton, Fred Rogers, and LeVar Burton are top of my list of lifetime role models.
She also donated a million dollars to COVID vaccine research early in the pandemic, and the Moderna COVID vaccine was developed thanks in part to that.

I have soooo many books from the imagination library. My spouse and I have a nearly five year old and probably 50% of her books came from that program.
Imagine if any billionaires has done a fraction of the good she did…
I never understand their billionaire fundraisers. THEY literally already have the money. Just donate that! /s I understand really what these fundraisers do and it’s just despicable.
The fact we lost this gem, but are still stuck with that clown, demonstrates that god does not exist.
