I canned this chili January 2025 so it is no longer possible to make it for this price because of the ground beef. At the time I made 12 quarts of chili for $50, that was 28% cheaper than buying canned chili that you know wasn’t even comparable to homemade.

I’m wondering if my canned chili recipe would work with lentils.

Cost per person $2.53 Cost today is probably closer to $2.80

    Lentils are probably better if you mean to replace the ground beef, but if you’re looking to supplement it, my favorite addition is hominy.
