Fuck me, that thing even kinda looks like Bonzi Buddy.

You know, the thing from 25 years ago that spied on you and you only installed if you were an idiot (I installed it twice).

Meta is not your friend. Meta is a stalker which would knock you on your head and sell your corneas if it had the ability to do so and there were a nickel to be made from it.

Sounds like a stalker which is honestly pretty insane.

This is also a major problem with social networks, gmail and so on - users think these authorize them to give away private data of you- like phone numbers, mail adresses, text message content, images - of you.

Now things that have been told in confidence only for their ears are added to that list.

Meta’s business model has always been surveillance dressed up as connection. Now Muse reportedly wants to build hourly dossiers on people who never even signed up. Friends, family, bystanders: everyone becomes data because one Meta user mentioned them.

Hey, why is Meta using this uncanny valley grimace on xanex as a mascot anyway? I mean, what’s the plan there… He’s creepy.

Not mine, I ditched that shit years ago when I got a three day ban for telling a dude he was a little bitch after he bragged about beefing his wife.

He never even got so much as a warning.

Is it really spying if people are giving out all their info freely? I guess the agent with its cutesy demeanor is kind of pressuring people to do that, which is obviously not ok.

But a different side of this is people just not giving a shit about any of this. And not for the first time. Facebook wouldn’t try this if they didn’t know most people would go for it. Not saying that to justify their actions, but we desperately need people to realise what the outcome of all this is.

As much as I hate to say it, I agree with ya. My only hope is that I’m boring enough that nobody bothers to bundle up and purchase all my data

It doesn’t matter how boring you are. You are still a voter and a consumer to be squeezed maximally for profit and to be diverted from revolting and chopping billionaires heads off, just like every other person on earth
