Why doesn’t Twitter die together with Reddit? I wouldn’t have believed that the world has this many brain dead people before the Musk Twitter takeover.

They keep each other alive. Reddit constantly bitches about Twitter and Elon, while linking to Twitter in every thread

Mastodon is available. It’s pretty good if you find the right people. It just needs another boost like how Lemmy just got.

Honestly? Because most people don’t care about the “Inside Baseball” machinations of how these companies are run. And that’s fine. I don’t care anything about Nascar, but if 100,000 people want to pile into Alabama and watch fast traffic for three hours, they don’t need my endorsement to go enjoy themselves.

I feel like they left out the key point that his submersible went to the deepest known point on the entire planet (~36,000ft, almost 3x the depth of the titanic). it was only the fourth dive ever made to the challenger deep. and he didn’t get turned into human salsa

He also did a solo dive. Something I feel like you wouldn’t do unless you were heavily involved in the community.

I know precious little about James Cameron. What I do know can basically be summed up as: He’s Canadian, he’s a filmmaker who made like every other major movie of my childhood, and he likes the Titanic.

Oh, and that there’s a reasonable chance that he’s spent more time building deep sea submersibles than he has making movies.

I’m not sure how someone would miss that last part by now.

I saw the aliens episode of the movies that made us. His anti worker/anti union stance and his behaviour towards the crew on Aliens, because they dared take their union mandated breaks, made me dislike him. Hopefully he’s become better.

I highly doubt it. There are shitty directors and good ones. Shitty directors never, to my knowledge, become good directors down the line.

I didn’t know this last part but then again I didn’t question his credentials either. And even if I would, the correct thing would be to admit fault. It’s okay to be wrong. It’s not okay to stay wrong despite being corrected.

You can link communities by starting with an exclamation mark and typing the name of the community. Just as starting with an @ will let you link to usernames. This does not work on all mobile apps

Oh so everyone who knows a lot about something is an expert in that matter now? Ar3 yOu h1S puBlIC1st?

One thing I learned pretty fast in life, a lot of people are a lot more knowledgeable than you in a lot of things. Get to know them before you make an ass out of yourself.

Also he directed the 1997 film Titanic. The OST by Celine Dion became the iconic mourning song.
