Macaroni and Beef (AKA Beefy Cheesy Mac). This recipe is especially good when the weather begins to get colder.
It’s so hard recreating a yummy recipe like this in Canada. Those two cups of cheese cost about as much as the beef does 😭
It can be tough! You can probably get away with much less cheese (1/2 cup) just on top. Maybe add in a half cup of nutritional yeast as well, which has a similar flavor to parmesan.
I’ve never tried the nutritional yeast trick, although it’s usually pretty hard to find at a cheap price too haha. My go to replacement lately has been either sour cream or cream cheese depending on what I’m making.
I think either of those would be great! Especially if you can put some cheddar on top. It just won’t be as stretchy/ooey-gooey.
