I love my slow cooker (just to clarify - slow cooker - pot made out of ceramic/clay, with a cover, heated by electric heater, very cheap - you can get it even for ~20€)
I use it (currently) for 3 recipes, but I would like to expand this. The rule is that you just put all the stuff in (ok maybe some of them a bit latter) and that is it, no pre-cooking, some fancy manipulating of the food,…
(I will write recipes in the comments so that they can get up/down voted)
Chilli-con-carne
- 1kg minced pork
- 3x paprika
- 1x onion
- 1x can of beans
- splash of oil
- 100ml tomato sauce
- 2T of taco mix (but you can also do like salt, smoked paprika, onion powder,…)
(3h on max)
- 1x can of corn
- 1x can of lentil
- mix in some cornstarch
(1h on max)
What’s the unit of measure for the amount of paprika?
3 whole paprika (I usually put one yellow, one red and one green, just for color contrast)
Pulled pork
- 1kg pork shoulder
- 0.5kg onion
- 1x beef soup cube
- 2T brown sugar
- 1T smoked paprika
- 1T salt
- splash of soy source
- splash of oil
(4h on max)
Brown rice.
500g medium-grain brown rice 750ml boiling water Salt
Combine in slow cooker, on HIGH for three hours.
Perfect brown rice every time. There may be a way to do it on stovetop or microwave, but I’ve never achieved good results. This, however, is foolproof.
interesting - never cross my mind to just cook rice. Going to try this
