I focus on multiplayer games, which means I need to find other people online to play with. Lets see who in the Lemmy community we can play with!

Please list off games you’re willing to play with others, and if necessary, your rough skill level (if appropriate to your game). Hopefully we can find some partners worth playing with.

  • Go – I reached 7kyu last year on CGoban, but my studies have stalled out as other games entered my radar. I’m more than willing to teach absolute beginners in study games, but I’m certainly no expert! I’m probably closer to 10kyu (or worse) due to the lack of practice, but 7kyu was my best rating.

  • Puyo Puyo Tetris – I consider myself advanced level in Puyo Puyo, certainly to American standards (though I probably am just intermediate to the Japanese). I can comfortably chain 10+ combos on the Puyo Puyo side while beginning to understand screenwatching + harassment patterns. I’ve got the basics of purposeful cutting though consistent fusions remain outside my skill level. On the Tetris side I’ve mastered several openings (TKI, Double-triple Cannon, Albatross). I can c4w though its not my strong suit and I don’t do it competitively. 1-minute 40-line clear puts me closer to just strong-intermediate level, though I feel like my downstacking is stronger than most people at my rough speed. I’m a PS4 and PC player. Access to PPT1, PPT2, and Puyo Puyo Champions on both PS4 and PC.

  • Age of Empires 2 Definitive Edition – 1000-ish advanced beginner player. I can boar lure, deer lure and other basic openings, but I can’t say I got much understanding beyond the basic build orders yet (MAA, Scout, and Archer openings). Just Arabia, I’m very bad at other maps. I win vs Extreme AI more often than not, though I make enough stupid mistakes / build order errors that I’m not consistently beating it yet.

  • Advance Wars Reboot Camp – Total Beginner to online play, though I play a lot of strategy games.

  • Factorio – Heh, I like the game but never have tried multiplayer. How does that even work? Figured I’d put this on here just in case people out there wanna play a multiplayer session or two. Unlike the other games, Factorio is cooperative, so different skill levels is fine, as long as we’re both enthusiastic? (Maybe? I dunno…)

I’m a complete Splatoon addict. Coming up on 300 hours in the most recent game, rank S+0/X playing like an absolute killing machine. (God bless the Flingza roller.)

Factorio multiplayer is great. It’s fun and it runs smooth.

I want to try rimworld multiplayer mod or parkitect or open roller coaster tycoon 2 multiplayer.

Jump Ultimate Stars, I think I’m pretty good, but it’s an old game that only works with custom servers and it is hard as fuck to arrange a meeting with somebody ☠️

    • Deep Rock Galactic - I’ve been playing this one for a while, have quite a few promotions with each class (except driller. Nothing personal, just don’t like em as much as the rest for some reason). I’ve unlocked all of the weapon overclocks and am going through the last few cosmetics ones.

    • Battlebit Remastered - Just got this game, pretty much a total noob. Been having a lot of fun though.

I’m around 1 dan on OGS in Go if you ever want lessons too. I’m a bit rusty since I moved earlier this year and started a new job so I haven’t had the time to play, but it’s nice to see other Go players here.

      Congrats on reaching shodan!

“Playing to improve” really takes a lot of effort. I think reaching SDK myself has caused me to play for enjoyment more than improvement, lol. I don’t think there’s anything wrong in that. Shodan is a huge step in any case, it felt like I had to read and study so much just to reach 7k.

Thanks! That’s very understandable. The most important thing is definitely having fun, I agree. If you ever do want some advice the offer’s there anyway! Or if you want to just play for fun sometime I’d be happy to do that too. We could use some fun alternative types of handicaps if you’d like as well. Or if we get enough people we could set up a game of rengo as well. In any case, like I said I’m just happy to see others playing Go :)

    Halo MCC

I’m average to below average. I like to rush, so I typically play objectives like King of the Hill or Oddball. Sometimes Free For All if there’s enough people online. Sometimes I’ll play Firefight if I’m actually doing couch co-op.

I wish that game had multi-team like on Halo Reach.

    • Hunt: Showdown – I have like 350 hours or so in it, I’m a solidly 3 star player. I’ve been at both 2 and 4 stars before, but its been a while since either. Pretty much exclusively play with a premade team. Feel like I am fine but not excellent.

    • Splitgate – Another FPS, I play less of this one. Once again I am fine, I’m pretty garbage in the FFA gamemodes, but I usually can contribute to the team decently, and in most of the objective modes I am good about playing the objectives and am frequently one of the higher scoring players in a match even if I lag the field on kills or have more deaths.

    • Demeo – I don’t feel like the skill ceiling in this game is very high, I can definitely contribute to a successful team run on this one.

    • Dawn of War: Dark Crusade – Not really broad multiplayer here, but I recently restarted playing this with a friend of mine, and am trying to organize some larger games amongst my offline friend group. I’m a bit better at RTS games than them, so I usually win against my friend, but I’m not like actually good.

Halo infinite, gunfire reborn, vampire survivors occasionally, TOTK, cyberpunk.

Those are the games I’ve touched in the last month or so

Dead by Daylight - bit of an on and off, toxic relationship with this game, maybe same story for others. I still enjoy playing as killer and consider myself pretty good, but don’t like playing to win at all costs.

Deep Rock Galactic - I have quite a few promotions since I just like coming back to this game. Every so often, I try out a new build through the overclocks, but have some old standbys I love. My Engineer build often gets the most kills on hazard 3/4 (but it gets overwhelmed at 5, where killing every single enemy is often implausible)

Far Cry 4-6 - I like simple coop games like this, already finished these games except for 6 but might be fun to give these a try in coop.
