    The trick is to freeze them for about 20 mins, spray the inside with lemon juice, toss them out, and buy a plastic one at Michael’s.

    That’s why I’m making pumpkin pie right after taking a picture of the carved pumpkin so the spook will be inside of us all along.

      There actually is. You can either spray the inside and cut surfaces with hairspray, or smear them with Vaseline. That will seal it from the atmosphere and it should last a lot longer.

        I know a family who has a pumpkin festival at their house every Halloween. They do hairspray.

      There was a magical cure for this back in the day. In ancient times pumpkins like these were displayed outside where the weather was cold enough for them to keep for weeks. Now that we’ve raised the planet’s temperature, that isn’t a good option in many places.
