Dirt Rally (with a wheel and pedals)

Dirt Rally is the only VR game that makes me queasy. Any tips for adjusting to it.

I don’t know. It made me queasy too at first, but for me it was just a matter of getting my VR legs. I used Aircar to get more used to motions that made me motion sick. Didn’t take long before Dirt Rally was no problem (although sometimes the replays get me).

    I really enjoyed “a fishermans tale”…

Its a really cute puzzle game with some really cool interactive concepts.

Obviously hl:alyx. It’s one of the best VR titles, and trough steam workshop mods you can get maps almost as good as some other full games.

I expect you to die 1&2: great secret agent puzzle games

Into the Radius: it’s a bit like stalker in VR, the gunplay is quite unique, as you will have to maintain your weapons to keep them operating properly. Also: magazines are expensive, so try not to drop any even in the heat of battle.

Hotdogs horseshoes and hand grenades (h3vr): a sandboxy game about shooting with many extremely well made guns.

Also Super Hot is quite fun in vr

I second ITR, it perfectly captures the fantasy it is going for.

It really depends on what kind of games you like. Into the radius was one of my favorite single player games so far, but it can be quite stressful. In death is a great rogue like with awesome graphics and gameplay. Currently I’m enjoying Dungeons of Eternity the most, great coop game.

+1 for dungeons of eternity - it’s basically the game I wanted when I bought blade & sorcery!

It’s really good. Combat is physics based, but not to the same extent as in b&s, bow and arrow feels better though imo. Less janky overall compared to b&s. And coop ofc, which makes it really fun.

If you don’t have issues with motion sickness, I really enjoyed playing through the GTA V VR mod. The entire campaign can be completed and it’s a wild experience in third person. One of my favorites by far.

Haha can you get the Oppressor flying bikes in the VR mode? That would be amazing or insta-puke I imagine in VR. Spent most of my old GTA Online days flying the Oppressor MK I bike with wings and wheels (not the hover-bastard one). Was always fun.

I always played with trainers, so yeah, you totally could. One of my favorite vehicles to mess with was the hang glider. Genuine feeling of flying. The VR mod only works in single player anyway.

Alright this might sound stupid, but Euro Truck Simulator 2 and/or American Truck Simulator. VR is a little manly at first to get cabinets, but once you are in the cabin hauling stuff around our just joyriding, it becomes a wonderful experience. The plethora of mods makes it even deeper and more engrossing.

Obvi, get a wheel and pedals for it as possible.

Edit: Ah, just saw your comment about your PC not being VR capable, sorry!

If you can swing it, as it should be around the same price when you shop, look into the RX 5700XT. Was my daily driver the last 3 years and a solid contender with those cards. Worked great with most of my VR titles. Although no ray tracing 😕

One other game recommendation once you upgrade. It’s old in the tooth, but Skyrim VR. Once modded, it’s a wonderfully in-depth RPG. I recommend using the FUS mod pack via Wabbajack. Librum if you want a more hardcore, less magic option.

I Expect You to Die 1 + 2. You play as a Bond-esque secret agent with psychic powers and manipulate the environment to solve puzzles.

I second these, super fun games, though very little replay ability. It was fun to use these as a way to show people VR too. Their interactive tutorial is great.

Def wait for a sale. You’re only going to really get one play through. Red Matter 1 and 2 are similar and more visually impressive.

Walkabout Mini Golf is excellent. The environments are fantastic, and you can play by yourself or with others cross platform (oculus, index, etc). Great price point on it as well.

This is a must have game!! Even if you don’t like golf, this is probably the best social VR experience aside from vrchat.

My favorite VR games so far have been vertigo 1 & 2. Half-lifish shooters, but with weirder humor. I think they’re PC-VR only though.

Pavlov is a good free fps with lots of mods; Core game is counter strike. If you like flying/sims I recommend DCS and Elite Dangerous. If you want an fps campaign: Zero Caliber is decent.

Demeo is the perfect table top game for VR. It’s on pretty much every platform. It’s great solo, with friends or random strangers.

Thumper is still great in VR and runs perfectly on almost any hardware.
