"Manchin said he first has to explore whether there’s an appetite among voters for a moderate candidate like him. "

Ugh.

Nobody would vote for him. He might get donations as a foil though

I’m just saying, people would donate.

I suspect he’ll use the office for a shit load of personal gain- exactly like trump.

“a moderate candidate like him” A hard right “I got mine, fuck you!” Republican like him? A turncoat like him? A sellout like him? An utterly untrustworthy slimeball like him?

    “moderate candidate”

They got legal weed in WV now or is that just the standard chemical cocktail that results from rabid deregulation of what companies dump into the water there?

He should consider running off a cliff. Probably greater public support for that. I’d even make a donation.

Anyone who would consider him a moderate would never vote for a moderate.

Who the fuck would vote for Manchin? Democrats who aren’t alllll the way on the right side of their party (more right than Biden, ffs)? Every other democrat hates his guts. Republicans aren’t going to vote for a Democrat. Especially not when the Convict in Chief is running again with promises of a total coup.

After he’s fucked over the Democrats so many times? I don’t know many who would vote for him.

It’s neat watching the people who spent the past few years defending him suddenly discover that they always hated him.

This is the best summary I could come up with:

WASHINGTON — Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., inched closer Wednesday to confirming that he could run for president.

Manchin suggested that if he can “reinvigorate” the middle-of-the-road constituency, that would play a major role in whether he would launch a White House bid.

Manchin said he doesn’t think there’s a deadline for him to make a decision about a presidential run, but mentioned he would figure that out around Super Tuesday, scheduled for March 5, if he has a following.

The senator dodged questions about whether he would only run as a third-party candidate, just saying, “The bottom line is, I’m as independent as it becomes.”

Manchin seemed to reject the notion that an independent bid could hurt President Joe Biden’s re-election chances.

He said he doesn’t think Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris are the strongest ticket to defeat Trump, arguing that they don’t cater to centrists.
