In another twist on the OpenAI saga that raged over the weekend, Microsoft has swooped in and hired Sam Altman and Greg Brockman.

Satya Nadella said that Microsoft remains committed to its OpenAI partnership.

      This seems like the most accurate speculation I’ve seen yet. Sam’s got a lot of buddies over at Microsoft as they’ve been working with OpenAI for some time now

    I don’t think it will ultimately be good for the world for MS to gain the amount of market power that is up for grabs in the AI land rush. I have the sinking suspicion that the odds that Sam Altman will be a footnote in history just went way up, and the chances that it’ll be a positive footnote went down.
