Let’s not pretend they put that much thought into it.
But when they mix the pretty food colorings they get different colors! It’s marvelous! (Until it turns brown,)
It makes no economic sense. I think it must appeal to a lot of voters, probably a lot who would not admit it.
A reminder that lots of people don’t think they’re explicitly racist. They just think poor people deserve to be poor and support policies to that end.
And the ones who are poor themselves think they’re just temporarily disgraced millionaires.
