The only reason the grid/utility industry is hemming and hawing about it is because they don’t want to invest the capital for improvements, just collect the profits afterwards. If they cast enough doubt about it now, then they know the federal government will step in and subsidize it all for them.
If they started programs like V2G they’d even stabilize the grid without the need for major upgrades.
But then that’d make it harder to justify the coal plant they purchased 10 years ago.
