This is all over allowing whole milk to be served again in public schools which stopped being served in favor of low-fat skim, 1%, and 2% after child health initiatives were put in place during the Obama administration.

    These people are ridiculous.

Being ridiculous is the point - to denigrate our institutions with frivolity and poor leadership.

To the point to which we equate all politicians with this type of behavior, and just throw up our hands in disgust.

The arc of history sometimes bends imperceptibly towards justice, and at such times it is our lot to bend it ourselves.

Now I disagree with the ridiculous arguments they have been making in favor of this, but I think whole milk should be offered as an option to school kids. There are increasingly more studies that show the fear of fats in food is unjustified (not to mention that manufacturers’ solution was to replace fat with sugar in their products).

Not only do these people love to denigrate experts, they think their fairy tales are actual history. LOL.

I want to see one of these people making such anti-expert, anti-intellectual statements have their teeth drilled by a non-expert the next time they need a cavity filled.

Yes, that’s exactly what she means.

Which is why it’s fair game to counter with the point that scientists built both the USS Enterprise and Millennium Falcon.

Republicans went on to imply that other forms of milk like almond milk, soy milk, etc were communist beverage

Ohhhhh of course he did. 🙄

Wait so I have never liked cows milk. Is this why I keep wanting the proletariat to rise up and over the bourgeoisie? If I had only liked cows milk as a child I would have become a staunch capitalist.

Yes, but only if you prefer whole milk. Those of us who drink low fat milk may not want the proletariat to rise up but we do want health care for all

I remember seeing a comic recently in which it talked about the children that screamed about how “they didn’t have to learn this topic or that topic”…and now these same types are doing their “research” on the net and so on, generally making total asses of themselves.

I think the hubbub the media is generating around this event is really fucking stupid and mean-spirited. The woman was simply using some relatively mild, light-hearted rhetoric to make her argument for why whole milk should be included in public school cafeterias, and people are treating it like she believes Santa is real. This is shameful reporting.

Well, it looks like they were just co-opted by ridiculous dairy council propaganda about the “health” of milk.

It’s also interesting that white supremacists made a big deal of drinking dairy, as well as talking a lot about “soy boys”.
