The letters, obtained Thursday by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution through an open records request, were hand-written and terse. Neither letter acknowledges the legitimacy of Democrat Joe Biden’s win in Georgia’s 2020 election nor denounces the baseless conspiracy theories they pushed to claim Trump was cheated out of victory through fraud.

“I apologize for my actions in connection with the events in Coffee County,” Powell wrote in a letter dated Oct. 19, the same day she pleaded guilty to six misdemeanors accusing her of conspiring to intentionally interfere with the performance of election duties.

“I apologize to the citizens of the state of Georgia and of Fulton County for my involvement in Count 15 of the indictment,” Chesebro wrote in a letter dated Oct. 20, when he appeared in court to plead guilty to one felony charge of conspiracy to commit filing false documents.

A spokesperson for Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, who brought the election interference case, declined Thursday to comment on the contents of the letters.

Maybe sorry they got caught. Or maybe sorry it didn’t work out the way they planned.

See people act like that is a cop out, but there are a lot of times in my life where I stand 100% by what I said, I am also not happy that it made them feel bad.

I 100% agree with you, sometimes it’s definitely a cop out, but there are many situations where it’s felt like the exact sentiment I wanted to express but chose to avoid it because it’s kinda been memeified

as a condition of their plea deals in the Georgia election interference case are just one sentence long.

    I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s a standard practice.

It’s just a legal tool. Even prosecutors are not interested in the depth of apology. Why would a defendant write a long text with 1000s of words, of which one tiny word choice can lead to a huge problem.

I’d accept these one-sentence apologies if they had to write them out 100 times on a chalkboard like Bart Simpson.

Written with their non-dominant hand. In pen. WITH NO WHITE-OUT. That’ll teach 'em to make a mockery of our nation.

While frustrating, this is the benefit you get for turning early. Apology statements are worthless anyways. It’s the proffer and testimony they’ll give at trial that will determine how much value they provided to the case.

It’s frustrating, but we already knew they didn’t and don’t have remorse for their actions.

Making them write an apology letter as if they were in the third grade doesn’t change that.

Weird to see something so vitally important like that be measured as just being misdemeanors.

Sidney Powell is one of those people who are incredibly, jaw-droppingly stupid and astoundingly confident that they are smarter than everyone else in every room they enter.

She really has zero awareness of just how dumb the things she says are.

A major problem of reading MAGA text is that it rots the brain. And even for this price, what we get in exchange is garbage.
